While completing her Chiropractic degree, Dr. Moat also studied acupuncture at the Acupuncture Society of America in Kansas City under Dr. Richard Yennie, President and Founder.
In addition to chiropractic and acupuncture treatments, Dr. Moat is also trained in the application on kinesiotaping, which is a cutting-edge treatment which involves muscular support and proper biomechanics of the body. Dr. Moat is also proficient in the Gua Sha Technique, which assists the healing process for post-operative scar tissue, rotator cuff injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, general tendonitis, and muscular disorders. The Gua Sha Technique is also effective for sports-related extremity injuries, such as muscular tears, tennis and golf elbow, frozen shoulder, general knee pain, and ankle/foot inflammation.
Dr. Moat has attended numerous seminars in the field of Chiropractic Technique and annually attends post-graduate courses to stay current on the latest diagnostic and treatment procedures for back, neck, temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ) and extremity pain. Dr. Moat has vast experience with non-surgical spinal decompression. This revolutionary new technology is very effective at treating bulging discs, herniated discs, pinched nerves, sciatica, radiating arm and leg pain, degenerative disc disease, and facet syndromes. This treatment option is very safe and utilizes FDA cleared equipment to apply distraction to spinal structures in a precise and graduated manner. Distraction is offset by cycles of partial relaxation. This technique of spinal decompression therapy, that is, unloading due to distraction and positioning, has shown the ability to gently separate the vertebrae from each other, creating a vacuum inside the discs that we are targeting. This “vacuum effect” is also known as negative intra-discal pressure. Her clinical emphasis is on increasing your overall quality of life for adults as well as children through gentle chiropractic treatments.
