Sonoyta, Mexico
My wife and I went to Esperanza para los ninos (”Hope for the Children”) several weeks ago. This orphanage in Sonoyta approximately 50 miles south of Lukesville, Az takes care of 30 beautiful children. We took collections for several weeks and were able to take donations from many of our business partners here in Scottsdale. We were able to donate a 3 month supply of children’s vitamins for each of the children in the orphanage. It was very exciting to us here at Arizona Pain Specialists that our first paycheck came in just a few days before we left for our trip so we were able to donate this check to the children’s home. It wasn’t a lot, but we were very excited to be making a difference through our clinic.
The orphanage is run by Director Guellermo Zapata and his wife. There are also 3 other workers who have donated there time working in this home 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Pastor Zapata is a Church of God minister who considers himself a missionary within his own country. The children are extremely well taken care of, however there are times when they don’t have basic necessities like milk and bread. If you are interested in donating to these children you can go to this link: http://www.esperanzaparalosninos.com/donate.html
