Welcome to the May edition of Arizona Pain Monthly! The Chandler office opened on April 5th, and we are excited to report that East Valley patients overwhelmingly love the location! Nurse practitioner Charla Barrick has been busy bringing the same standards of care youve come to expect from our Scottsdale and Glendale locations to the East Valley. Dr. Tristan Pico of MD Anderson will be joining Charla in July and will then be available for office visits and procedures in the Chandler location. This months issue focuses on health and wellness, something we feel to be a vital part of pain management. Many foods have been found to have anti-inflammatory properties, and so weve included an entire menu of our favorite anti-inflammatory foods to demonstrate how easy it can be to incorporate these foods into your daily diet. Weve begun to offer videos of live, actual procedures on our website. Part of The Pain Show, these procedure videos take you inside the operating room and are narrated throughout the entire procedure. If youve ever been interested in a certain procedure, or even just curious about what the equipment inside the operating room looks like, you can see all this and more at www.ArizonaPain.com. Please note, these videos may not be for you if you have a weak constitution. May is Achievement Through Pain Month on our Facebook group. Accomplishing even small goals on a daily basis can empower pain patients, and can contribute to a more positive outlook. In an effort to support you, we encourage you to post your daily goal on the discussion forum on Facebook, and let us know how you did in meeting that goal. We also encourage you to support and find support from others in the discussion, as forming relationships with others who know what you are going through can also be extremely empowering. We hope that this issue is useful, educational and informative. Please contact us at newsletter@ArizonaPain.com if you have any questions or comments. We thank you for your continued loyalty if you are a long-standing patient, and we welcome you to the Arizona Pain Specialists family if you are a new patient. Until next time, remember that at Arizona Pain Specialists, we believe you can be pain-free. Back to Arizona Pain Monthly
