This year’s upcoming Chronic Pain Expo promises to be better than the last. Each year, hundreds of people attend the event to learn better ways of managing their conditions. Attendees will also meet vendors with amazing services and products designed to make life easier.

If you have any questions about the event itself, read on because we have answers for you.

What is the Chronic Pain Expo?

The Chronic Pain Expo is an annual event organized by Arizona Pain that brings together traditional doctors, chiropractors, pain specialists, naturopathic physicians, and practitioners of complementary and alternative care such as acupuncturists.

Essentially, every type of doctor, specialist, and health expert with knowledge about chronic pain comes together under one roof for a few hours every year for the sole purpose of answering your questions.

The all-day event allows patients and caregivers to talk with these experts at their leisure. The Internet offers an amazing storehouse of information, but nothing beats talking with people in person, finding answers to your specific questions, and learning about treatments and resources you may not have known existed.

What time and where does the event take place?

The event takes place on Sept. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort and Spa.

Why does the event take place in September?

September marks Pain Awareness Month, an initiative designed to raise society’s awareness of chronic pain, but also empower patients to share their stories and find strength in their battle.

About 100 million people nationally experience chronic pain, so you’re definitely not alone. Help is out there. We want to show you all the resources that are available. Nobody should have to suffer needlessly, or in silence.

What types of vendors will be there?

A range of health care professionals will be on site including chiropractors, acupuncturists, bracing specialists, physical therapists, pain management specialists, and research experts.

Psychologists will also be on hand to answer your questions about the many links between mental health and chronic pain. Nutritionists and health experts will be available to discuss the many lifestyle changes you can make to reduce pain, including offering tips to overcome your specific challenges.

Representatives from local support groups and wellness programs will be present, exposing you to resources you may not have been aware of. You’ll have access to sample pain products, along with lifestyle products and services. Rehabilitation experts will also be on hand to discuss your unique situation.

Because of the wide variety of specialists in attendance, you’ll be able to learn about a range of treatments, varying from the most sophisticated conventional therapies to those alternative and holistic therapies you may have heard about, but never tried. If you’ve heard about acupuncture or chiropractic, for example, but aren’t really sure what the treatments entail, come to the Chronic Pain Expo and find out.

What is different this year?

Every year, the Chronic Pain Expo grows bigger and better. Even if you attended last year, you’ll find new information and insights this year.

This year’s event will showcase information from the latest clinical trials in pain management. Arizona Pain is active in research in areas like stem cell research, which is offering new hope for many patients experiencing specific types of joint pain. Come and learn how these revolutionary therapies are already changing people’s lives.

How will the event help me?

This event offers the unique opportunity to speak to dozens of health experts across a wide variety of specialties. Typically, you would need to schedule multiple appointments and potentially spend hundreds of dollars to go on fact-finding missions about the services these professionals offer.

The Chronic Pain Expo gathers all these experts in the same room with the sole purpose of making information available to you.

You’ll also have the opportunity to meet other chronic pain patients. Pain can be an isolating condition, but events like the Chronic Pain Expo bring together the community so you feel less alone. In addition to finding answers from health professionals, you can talk with other patients and possibly learn from them.

You’ll walk away with greater knowledge about your condition and the possible treatments available, but you’ll also find something much more significant: peace of mind. You’ll leave knowing just how many people are available to support you in this journey so you feel less alone.

Another opportunity is the chance to connect with local wellness programs and support groups. These local groups offer the opportunity for connection long after the Expo has passed. Finding these connections is an important part of your health journey and we encourage all attendees to reach out and tap into the multitude of resources that are available. It will make all the difference in your life and health.

Why does Arizona Pain hold the event?

Many pain patients wander from doctor to doctor, from specialist to specialist in hopes of finding answers that never quite materialize.

Arizona Pain offers a unique service model that pairs board-certified pain specialists with an array of complementary and alternative therapists. In addition to the medical side, we’re passionate about helping people heal through physical activity and nutrition—actions that studies show are critical to supporting health, but that few doctors talk about during in-office visits.

Studies also show that patient education is key to achieving good health outcomes. Put all those factors together, and that is why we host the Chronic Pain Expo. We believe successful pain management comes from a comprehensive approach that includes education, community support, and the best of alternative and modern medicine.

The Expo is a showcase of the lifestyle and medical team that has made a real difference in thousands of people’s lives. We hope to see you there.
